Stats to event head gear
This halloween event and especially the zombie face paint mask made me think, that these headgears should be usable in common game play. So basicly event headgears should be given normal stats which usual head gears have too. +1 to certain attribute, armor, ability to attach a rune and so on. For a little payment (like 10k or 20k) festival hat maker could convert your event headgear to have a specific attribute and armor based on your primary profession. Discuss.

that would add a bit more customization of characters with the different looks. id be in favor so my rit could wear those antlers all the time, but players might complain that they missed an event so they cant have certain items. then theyd want a crafter, so i doubt it will work out

You're letting some AL and an insignia stop you? Bah!
I know many people who play in event headgear all the time. They have regular hats that they put on for Hard Mode. One of the guys in our guild was never seen without his pumpkin crown. Sadly he left before mini Mad King became available - he would have flipped.
People forget that you can be both suboptimal and successful.

I wouldn't mind if the hats had a bit more armor, but they shouldn't be equal to regular armor- else you're going to see everyone in snowmen hats 24/7 and that takes away from the specialness and festive spirit. At most it should have the classes' base AL, or perhaps set to a flat number like 50. Then you aren't punished with random headshots as you are with zero armor, but enough people will stick with the optimal att bonus + insignia pieces to keep hats unique.

Yeah.. That have me an idea of a way to increase the AL of your armor. So say you bought some like Ascalon armor and dyed it black but the AL was too low to actually use, you could just pay a crafter to raise the AL. I think it would work. But to raise the AL it would be equal to the cost of buying new armor.

This type of thread seems to be created every time we have a holiday, eh?
I'd rather wear my Dragon Mask than anything else, if I could.

I agree. Festival hats would be fun ways to customize your characters but, I doubt it will ever happen as it would give low level characters great armor sooner

easy way out, have it scale to your level like hero armor 3 armor and lvl 1 (for casters it may be more for other proffesions, not sure)all the way up to 60 armor for lvl 20's, 3 armor per level. Easy enough, amirite?

/signed and my reason was already posted in MagmaRed's thread. Can we just leave it at that and have others who are interested in this idea post their responses to her thread? What say, good Mods? Close this?

yeah that made me think, the headwear shouldnt even have 60/70/80 AL like the other armor.
Anyways, kinda like the idea but nah.

Yes. Was discussing this very idea today with someone in-game.
Let the Festival Hat guy upgrade the hats for a fee (and materials?), but only if you are already level 20 and/or Ascended. That way noone gets extra armor early, and only people willing to pay will bother with it.

Hm... 100gold per level should do then.
They could be cheaper during the even they were originated. Or more expensive the rest of the year.

First, I suggest a merge into the thread MagmaRed posted. Less threads on the same topic the better.
Second, I think there should be two types of Festival Hats.
The first being exactly like how it is now, this type is what the NPCs give out at events.
The second would be an additional option at the Hat Maker. This type of hat would act like Common Armor helms. That is, have max AL, be insigniable, and have a +1 to rune attribute.
The new armor type of the hats would cost 5k. Although scaling to the level would be more beneficial, and scaling the cost with that, I disagree with that idea due to it being even more coding then needed.

/signed to make them usable with full stats. But 15-20k is too expensive imo.
